Are you passionate about fostering inclusion, making a meaningful impact in your community, and eager to dive into the world of nonprofit event management? Special Olympics Minnesota is looking for dynamic and motivated Special Events & Corporate Partnerships Interns to join our team! 


Job Type: Part-time, Internship 


Expected Hours: About 20 hours per week. Some weekend and evening requirements for work at events, including most Saturdays in January, February and March. 


Timeframe: September 2025 – March 2026, with opportunity to extend into Spring and Summer months. Great multi-year opportunity! Come back in future years to continue building on the team’s success. 


Pay: $20.00 per hour 


Work Location: Flexible, Hybrid Schedule with opportunities to work from home outside of event schedules; opportunities to collaborate and gain experience working in-person in an office setting up to two days per week (Minneapolis, MN). 


Additional Items: 

  • Laptop and training provided. 
  • Parking allowance when working in downtown Minneapolis. 
  • Mileage, parking, and other travel expenses reimbursed for working on-site at events. 

This internship will provide experience: 

  • planning and preparing for fundraising events, such as Special Olympics Minnesota’s Polar Plunges, Plane Pull, SOMN Open, Move for Inclusion, Torch Run Final Leg and International LETR Conference; 
  • preparing materials, supplies, and equipment for meetings, trainings, and events; 
  • managing event details on-site such as setup and teardown, supervising volunteers, and managing the participant experience; 
  • recruiting volunteers, groups, and businesses to participate in and support events; 
  • working with industry standard tools to track and analyze data and results; and 
  • working with an established team to host high-quality, successful fundraising events, grossing over $6M annually. 
  • Other duties may include preparing proposals and reports for corporate partners, collaborating with marketing staff to promote events and recruit participants, entering data, managing photos and other resources.  
  • Seeking candidates with experience effectively using Microsoft 365 apps (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
