A K-12 school in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a skilled School Psychologist to provide comprehensive psychological services aimed at supporting student success and well-being. This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with educators, families, and students within a dynamic school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments to identify students cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and social needs
- Develop and implement individualized interventions and support plans
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create positive learning environments
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to guide decision-making regarding special education and mental health services
- Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation services as needed
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant educational regulations and policies
Desired Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctorate degree in School Psychology or related field
- Valid state certification/licensure as a School Psychologist
- Experience working in K-12 educational settings
- Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools and intervention strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
