Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our team. Only candidates with terminal licenses will be considered. The ideal candidate will provide therapeutic support to individuals and groups, utilizing evidence-based practices to promote mental wellness. This role requires a strong understanding of behavioral health principles, substance use addictions, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. The therapist will engage with clients through various modalities, including telehealth, but primarily in office, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Conduct individual (and possible group) therapy sessions to address clients' mental health needs.
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances.
- Utilize telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions, promoting a supportive environment for participants.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including social workers and medical staff, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Collect and analyze data related to client progress and treatment outcomes.
- Stay informed about best practices in mental health care, including special education needs and innovative therapies such as dance therapy.
Skills
- Proficient in telehealth technologies and platforms for delivering remote services.
- Strong background in behavioral health and addictions principles and practices.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
- Familiarity with social work/counseling practices and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Ability to collect, interpret, and utilize data for improving therapeutic outcomes.
- Understanding of medical terminology relevant to mental health settings.
- Knowledge of special education principles is a plus, particularly for clients with unique needs.
- Creativity in utilizing alternative therapies such as dance therapy to enhance client engagement.
