MSAD #41 is seeking to add a School Counselor to our team of educators. We are profoundly and uniquely focused on the needs of our students and communities in Milo, Brownville, and Lagrange, Maine. We are a dynamic team of educators who are committed to positively impacting the learning lives of all our students. The School Counselor plays a pivotal role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students. This full-time position involves providing individual and group counseling, guiding students through educational planning and career exploration, and fostering a positive school environment. The counselor works closely with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to help students succeed in school and prepare for life beyond graduation.

A Successful Candidate Will

• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and the administrator in order to promote and support student success
• Have a demonstrated ability to work in harmony with all members of the school community
• Analyze student data to identify and support school-wide needs related to social-emotional learning
• Implement/facilitate researched informed interventions in large group, small group, and individual settings
• Identify and develop accommodations and resources for students and teachers in assisting the implementation of individual behavior plans
• Prepare and follow-up with referrals to outside agencies
• Engage in restorative work with students, families and classroom teachers
• Respond to, evaluate, and make recommendations for students in crisis
• Aid in developing and facilitating professional development for staff
  
  

Qualification Requirements

• Hold a current or be certifiable for the Maine School Counselor Certification (075)
• Holds a Master's Degree in School Counseling
