Position Title: Behavior Technician

Service Area: Ignite Child Development Services, WI

Reporting Relationship: The Behavior Technician may be supervised by a BCBA, Senior Therapist, or Behavior Therapist

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Position Summary:

The Behavioral Technician will provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in the home, community, and school settings. The Behavioral Technician will collect data on programs, assist with parent training, and assist the Behavior Analyst, Senior Therapist, and Behavior Therapist with clinical assessments as needed.

Ignite Child Development Center provides ABA therapy in-home, in-school, and center based.

  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings utilizing a combination of intensive teaching and natural environment training arrangements
  • Follow the prescribed behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior
  • Utilize safe & appropriate handling procedures when working with clients
  • Assist BCBA Senior Therapist, and/or Behavior Therapist with skill acquisition and behavior reduction assessments
  • Assist in preparing client materials as instructed
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work and therapy environment
  • Collaborate with treatment team including client, parents and caregivers, outside professionals, BCBA, Senior Therapist, and co-workers

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Commitment to maintain client confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA laws
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and develop knowledge and skill sets accordingly
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, co-workers, supervisors, and community members
  • Commitment to ongoing training and development as it relates to clinical skills, professional development, ethics and technology in order to perform job responsibilities to required standards

Education and Experience:

  • Required: High School Diploma and must receive/ have 40 hours of trainning in Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Speech and Hearing Services, Registered Behavior Technician, or related field and 1,000 hours of supervised experience with children with a diagnosis of ASD

  • Satisfy all required background checks and comply with the company's drug free workplace policy
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the ongoing improvement of services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder or related conditions
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to pivot and move quickly to match pace of client
  • Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing and able to travel between different job sites
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License & current Auto insurance
  • Must be 18 years or older
