Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various therapeutic techniques and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality mental health care. This role involves working with individuals facing diverse challenges, including PTSD, crisis situations, and other mental health concerns. The counselor will be responsible for developing treatment plans, conducting therapy sessions, and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
- Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each client.
- Provide crisis intervention services to clients in urgent need of support.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including social workers and medical staff, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Offer specialized counseling services for clients with special education needs or those requiring Christian counseling approaches.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in mental health practices and integrate new techniques into therapy.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid license as a Professional Counselor in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in providing therapy for individuals dealing with PTSD and other trauma-related issues.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies and techniques.
- Strong background in social work or related fields is preferred.
- Ability to document client progress and treatment outcomes effectively.
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
