At Guiding Star, we have a marketing and account management team that contracts with Assisted Living Facilities to provide counseling to their residents.

As a therapist, you will go to your assigned facility/facilities on your own schedule. Working closely with the Directors of Nursing and the Wellness Directors you will identify people who need services. Additionally, residents can self-refer to you if they want counseling.

No more sitting in your office hoping the client shows up. You will go to them (and they are all under one roof)!

Guiding Star provides

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to provide support and therapeutic services to older adults facing various mental health challenges.

You will work collaboratively with clients to develop treatment plans that address their unique needs, while also providing individual and group counseling.

Your expertise in psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and group therapy is vital in fostering a supportive environment for healing and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client goals.
  • Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Engage in crisis intervention strategies for clients in acute distress or emergencies.
  • Collect and maintain accurate data on client progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care for clients.
  • Offer support for PTSD care and other trauma-related issues.
  • Advocate for clients’ needs within the healthcare system and community resources.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Counselor (LPC-MHSP) or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Experience in working with older adults and diverse populations is preferred.
  • Proficiency in providing psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and group therapy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
