Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated CounselorS to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various counseling techniques and a passion for helping individuals navigate their mental health challenges. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children and families, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialized therapeutic approaches. The Counselor will provide support through individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices to promote emotional well-being and personal growth.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions tailored to the needs of clients.
  • Utilize various therapeutic techniques to engage clients in the healing process.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with ICD-9 coding standards.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including educators and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Provide behavior management strategies to assist clients in developing coping skills.
  • Advocate for clients' needs within the community and assist them in accessing necessary resources.

Qualifications

  • Valid registration or certification as a Counselor or Therapist is preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with substance abuse and homelesssness is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in medical record keeping and familiarity with coding practices (ICD-11).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and research within the field of counseling.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week
