Description

Do you have a passion for making a real impact in child welfare? NorthCare, in collaboration with Oklahoma’s Office of Family Representation (OFR), is looking for a dedicated Social Worker to join our team! This role is part of an interdisciplinary legal defense team providing compassionate, strengths-based support to indigent parents, legal guardians, and Indian custodians involved in the juvenile deprived court system.

As a Social Worker with NorthCare, you will be pivotal in empowering families, supporting interdisciplinary teams, and advocating for client success. This is not a typical social work role; you’ll be part of an impactful initiative that protects rights, fosters resilience, and aids families in navigating the complexities of child welfare and court processes.

This position may serve families in the following counties: Harmon, Greer, Jackson, Kiowa, Tillman, Caddo, Grady, Cotton, Comanche, Stephens, Jefferson, Murray, Carter, Love, Johnston, and Marshall county. Incumbent must be willing to travel to these counties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strengths-based, culturally sensitive services tailored to each family.
  • Meet regularly with clients to discuss progress, goals, and service planning.
  • Educate clients about the child welfare system and provide ongoing support through court processes.
  • Partner with interdisciplinary team attorneys to develop advocacy strategies based on client needs.
  • Facilitate connections to community resources and provide crisis intervention when necessary.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • 2+ years in child welfare, juvenile deprived systems, or interdisciplinary teams.
  • Skills: Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in diverse community settings and adjust schedules to meet client needs.
  • Reliable transportation and valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
  • Auto insurance with business coverage, and ability to travel within assigned counties.
  • Ability to respond to work-related calls promptly and adapt to an essential worker schedule.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Therapeutic Options certifications (obtainable within 30 days of hire).

* Starting salary for this position is guided by experience, education, and whether the incumbent is under supervision or licensed to practice in the State of Oklahoma.

** This is a community-based role requiring travel and a high degree of autonomy. As an essential worker, you may occasionally work holidays, weekends, or during office closures.
