THE POSITION

The NDCL School Counselor is an integral part of upholding the mission, vision, and core values of Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School. Counselors serve as members of the student support team and interact with a broad range of constituents, including students, faculty, families, and administrators.

- Manage case load of approximately 170 students in grades 9-12.
- Partner with the NDCL Principal and admin team to support students, faculty, and families.
- Offer comprehensive college, technical, and vocational guidance including workshops and support on applications, essays, readiness programming, and financial aid in partnership with the LEAF program.
- Provide emotional support, mentoring, and/or wellness coaching for students experiencing stress, grief, conflict, or isolation.
- Coordinate in an effective and timely manner with external professionals to provide appropriate referrals to higher-level or long term supports.
- Organize and lead classroom seminar lessons based on student success standards.
- Lead and organize resources and support for standardized testing, including scholarship testing for prospective students.
- Participate in weekly team meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the NDCL Principal.

- Master’s level or higher in social work, counseling, school counseling, psychology, or related field.
- Exceptional understanding of the developmental needs of high school learners.
- State certification/licensure standards

Reports to: NDCL Principal Status: Full-time position to coincide with the need for occasional early morning, weekend, or evening tasks.
