GENERAL SUMMARY/BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Oncology Nurse Navigator is a professional nurse who functions as a clinical resource to the Oncology Program, coordinates referrals from physicians and healthcare facilities for patients, guides patients through the healthcare system by assisting them with access issues and provides a significant level of patient education related to oncology diagnosis and planned treatment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
- BSN
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 2 years Oncology experience
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- In-depth knowledge of cancer care, including both clinical and supportive care
- Knowledge of community-based cancer support services
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Current licensure in the State of Illinois as a Registered Nurse
- CPR certification
- Oncology Nursing Certification preferred

Schedule: Full Time, Days, 7a to 7p
