We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our team in providing high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric care, particularly in acute care settings, and will be committed to supporting patients in their recovery journey. This role involves working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of patients in a hospital or corrections facility medical clinic environment.

Duties

  • Provide direct patient care and support to individuals with psychiatric disorders, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
  • Monitor patient behavior and report any significant changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Assist in implementing behavior management strategies as directed by licensed staff.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including observations and interventions, using appropriate medical terminology.
  • Participate in treatment planning meetings and contribute to the development of individualized care plans.
  • Engage patients in therapeutic activities that promote recovery and enhance coping skills.
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive behavioral health services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or training in psychiatric care preferred.
  • Experience working in acute care settings or psychiatric hospitals is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and patient monitoring techniques.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and staff.
  • Knowledge of behavior management principles and techniques is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a genuine interest in helping individuals facing mental health challenges.
