A full-time School Psychologist opportunity is available at an elementary school in Independence, MO, for the upcoming school year on a contract basis. This role is focused on supporting the special education evaluation process and providing critical behavioral and educational insights within the school community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing an elementary school caseload and assisting with special education evaluations.
- Conducting observations related to Emotional Disturbance (ED), Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Other Health Impairment (OHI) eligibility criteria.
- Collaborating with coaches to perform Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and contributing to the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Partnering with the buildings Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) teams to offer professional insights and facilitate referrals as needed.
- Supporting students emotional and educational development through data-driven assessments and interventions.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Licensed or certified as a School Psychologist.
- Experience conducting evaluations for special education eligibility related to ED, Autism, and OHI.
- Skilled in Functional Behavior Assessments and behavior intervention planning.
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, coaches, and MTSS teams.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to student-centered support.
