Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavior Technician (BT) to provide ABA services one-on-one to young child, with a diagnosis of moderate autism. This position requires an individual who is enthusiastic about making a positive impact in the life of a person with special needs and who is committed to implementing behavior interventions effectively.
Approximate Schedule Needed:
20 -30 hours a week of services that will take place in the afternoon/evening and on weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized treatment plans designed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) .
- Support a cheerful and well-behaved 17-year-old young woman with moderate autism in developing functional life skills to support her transition into adulthood, including increasing independence, self-occupancy, and adaptive skills across home and community settings, with a focus on promoting success in the least restrictive environment.
- Collect and record data on the client's progress and behavior patterns during sessions as directed by the BCBA.
- Collaborate with the BCBA to adjust treatment plans and strategies as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents/caregivers regarding the client’s progress and any relevant observations.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for the client during sessions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with autism.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles.
- Previous experience as a Behavior Technician is required
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
