Overview:
Join our dedicated team at this Correctional Facility as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). In this vital role, you'll provide essential mental health services to incarcerated individuals, supporting their emotional well-being and rehabilitation. This is a unique opportunity to gain meaningful clinical experience in a secure setting—backed by a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a current and valid LMFT license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
• Minimum of 12 consecutive months of relevant experience within the last 3 years (excluding internships).
• Must be fluent in spoken and written English to ensure effective communication and care delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Provide therapeutic services under the direction of the Senior Psychologist or Supervising Mental Health Clinician.
• Conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and group therapy.
• Engage in crisis interventions, psychoeducational sessions, and conduct face-to-face therapy, which may include sessions at cell fronts.
• Accurately document all therapeutic interactions and participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IOTT) meetings.
• Perform mental health evaluations and review medical or legal records to support clinical judgment.
• Support the mental health transition of individuals within the facility and assist with discharge planning, connecting patients to community-based services when appropriate.
• Ensure a safe therapeutic environment by upholding institutional security standards and promoting appropriate inmate behavior.
• Adhere to California state laws and CDCR policies, regulations, and procedures governing mental health treatment in correctional settings.
