Music Therapist (Part-Time) - ActivHealing Treatment Center PHP Program

About ActivHealing Treatment CenterActivHealing is a Marriage and Family Therapy Corporation offering trauma-informed, holistic mental health care for military personnel, veterans, first responders, and individuals recovering from complex trauma. Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) blends evidence-based practices with expressive therapies to support deep healing and sustainable recovery.

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and board-certified Music Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate has a trauma-informed lens, clinical group experience, and the ability to foster safety and creativity through music-based interventions. You will lead music therapy groups within our PHP setting for adults navigating trauma, anxiety, PTSD, depression, and co-occurring conditions.

Experience working with veterans, military personnel, or first responders is a strong plus.

Responsibilities- Facilitate music therapy groups for up to 10-15 participants per session- Lead 1-2 groups per week (4-6 total hours), on-site- Incorporate trauma-informed, client-centered, and culturally responsive practices- Coordinate with clinical team to align music therapy with client treatment goals- Participate in clinical meetings or case discussions as needed- Document progress notes and group participation per program standards

Qualifications- MT-BC (Music Therapist - Board Certified) required- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy or related field- Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical or behavioral health setting- Trauma-informed care training or equivalent preferred- Experience working with adult populations and group facilitation- Experience working with veterans, military, or first responders is a plus- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build therapeutic rapport- Must be able to work independently while collaborating with the care team
