About the BBA
The Beaumont Business Association (BBA) is a vibrant, community-centered
organization dedicated to promoting local businesses and strengthening the Beaumont
neighborhood through events, advocacy, and outreach. We are looking for a dedicated,
organized individual to help us band together our community, expand it, and promote it!
Position Overview
The BBA is seeking a proactive, personable, and organized Community Engagement
Specialist to help us connect with current and potential members, promote their stories
and events, and increase community engagement through thoughtful outreach and
communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the liaison between BBA and member businesses: learn about their services, events, and unique offerings.
- Organize and manage this information for internal records and marketing purposes. This person would be responsible for creating a document that reports the information obtained from the visits to the business and be accessible through our Google Drive.
- Create and schedule engaging social media content (Facebook, Instagram) using our brand kit and Canva.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and attending BBA’s signature events (some evenings and weekends required).
- Represent the BBA in the community and build relationships with prospective members.
- Work closely with the Board of Directors and primarily collaborate with the Marketing Committee with regular check-ins.
- Maintain and update community event calendars and promote events through social media.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience in community outreach, event coordination, or similar roles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Canva and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram).
- Ability to create simple, on-brand digital designs, using our brand kit and Canva.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Willingness to attend occasional evening and weekend events.
- Independent contractor status with current liability insurance.
- Self-starter with a friendly, approachable personality and a passion for local business.
Schedule
12–15 hours per week (flexible, varies by season and event schedule)
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
