About Job

General Purpose:

Beautiful Sunshine Therapy is looking for a contracted licensed mental health therapist to provide high-quality, client-focused therapeutic services that support mental, emotional, and psychological well-being of our clients. We offer racially-specific and culturally-specific services to everyone, and prioritize care to the Black and Brown community. We are currently hiring for a part-time and full-time therapist with an earnings between $85 -90 per hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect information about clients through self-report inventories, interviews, observations, and discussions
  • Conduct therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused, narrative, emotion focused therapy, and family systems
  • Provide individual therapy, family therapy, couples therapy and group therapy
  • Assess clients' mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans
  • Discuss progress toward goals with clients and families such as medication regimen, family relationships, educational programs, social development, discharge plans, or other behavioral problems
  • Determine whether clients should be counseled or referred to other specialists in such fields as medicine, psychiatry, and legal aid
  • Knowledge of child/human development, DSM V diagnostic criteria, clinical assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of clinical services
  • Experience providing therapy to adolescents/teenagers
  • Assist clients with developing new interpersonal communication skills
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists and social workers, to provide comprehensive care
  • Analyze power dynamics across family relationships with consideration of broader societal contexts
  • Recognize ethical and equity issues
  • Understand, respect, and effectively work with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Recognize how cultural factors such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, religion, language, and disability shape an individual's worldview, experiences, and behavior
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards
  • Stay informed about current research and best practices in the mental health field

To qualify, you must hold a master’s degree in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, and/or family therapy.

Therapist must be licensed in state of Oregon
