About Job

Reinforce It Behavioral Health is looking for a compassionate, attentive, and dedicated Behavior Therapist (B.T.) to work with individuals that are diagnosed with autism and other developmental disabilities. The right candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement behavior reduction and skill acquisition treatment plans.

Behavior Therapists will be required to consistently monitor behavior, implement applied behavior analysis methods/procedures, collect/record data and engage with clients and their families in their daily activities.

The ideal candidate will need to possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written), be empathetic and compassionate, maintain a level of confidentiality and respect, as they work with the client and their family.

Additionally, at Reinforce It Behavioral Health, our behavior technicians are professionals who will have completed within 90 days of hire a 40-hour RBT training course, competency assessment conducted by the BCBA and received their RBT certification.

  • Provide direct care to clients in a one-on-one (1:1) or group therapy setting to implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction treatments as directed by the supervisor and/or BCBA
  • Collect and record data as it relates to behavior
  • Carry out clinical assessments and other administrative duties
  • Collaborate, communicate, and assist with the training of clients, parents and staff
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for clients and families
  • Maintain respect and strict confidentiality
  • Attend ongoing training to increase Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) knowledge

Department: In-Home Applied Behavior Analysis

Reports to: Board Certified Behavior Analyst

Supervision Over: None

Position Type: Part Time (Full-Time advancement opportunities)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma and 2 years’ experience working children or College Degree (AA or BS)
  • Must have own reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, auto registration and auto insurance
  • Available in the early afternoon/evening (e.g., Noon to 8:30 pm)
  • Experience working with children
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Basic Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent)
  • Effective communication
  • Correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • Bilingual applicants strongly encouraged to apply

Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of fingerprinting and background check.
