Job Summary
The Intake Coordinator plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting, serving as the first point of contact for patients and ensuring a smooth intake process. The Intake Coordinator will manage patient information, coordinate with various departments, and uphold compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Duties
- Review and verify patient documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Assist in medical coding tasks to ensure proper billing and insurance processing.
- Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and office staff to facilitate a seamless intake experience.
- Type correspondence, reports, and other documentation as required.
- Support office operations by managing appointment scheduling and follow-up communications.
Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, particularly within rehabilitation services and co-occurring mental health
- Familiarity with documentation review processes and medical coding practices is essential.
- Proficiency in using healthcare management systems.
- Strong typing skills and attention to detail are necessary for accurate data entry.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance.
