Salary: $100000 to $120000 / annually – depending on education / experience – eligible for sign-on bonus
Job Summary
Licensed psychologist conducts comprehensive autism assessments (including the ADOS-2), provides individual therapy, performs Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), offers parent training, and delivers behavioral consultation services. This position plays a vital role in supporting individuals and their families through evidence-based assessment and intervention
Responsibilities:Assessment:
- Conducts comprehensive autism evaluations using standardized tools including the ADOS-2 and other diagnostic instruments.
- Integrates data from clinical interviews, behavioral observations, rating scales, and collateral sources to inform diagnostic impressions.
- Prepares thorough, accurate, and timely psychological assessment reports.
- Communicates assessment results clearly and compassionately to families and, as needed, to schools or other service providers.
Therapeutic Services:
- Provides individual and family therapy using evidence-based approaches
- Tailors interventions to meet the developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs of neurodiverse children and adolescents.
Behavioral Services:
- Conducts Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) in home, clinic, and/or school settings.
- Collaborates with behavior analysts, teachers, and caregivers to develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Monitors and adjusts interventions based on data and ongoing progress.
Parent & Caregiver Training:
- Provides structured parent training and coaching to improve child outcomes and family dynamics.
- Offers psychoeducation about autism spectrum disorder, behavior management strategies, and navigating support services.
Consultation:
- Serves as a behavioral consultant to schools, clinics, or agencies, providing guidance on intervention strategies, classroom accommodations, and staff training.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, educators, and other psychologists.
Other Duties:
- Maintains credentials and continuing education requirements
- Participates in clinical meetings with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Provides crisis management services, which may include the facilitation of emergency psychiatric hospitalization services, when necessary, under the supervision of the AVP Behavioral Health Services.
- Completes all required documentation, including but not limited to psychological evaluations, progress notes, wellness/resiliency plan and discharge summaries.
- Participates in discharge planning meetings, support the transition process and provide any necessary documentation to facilitate further communication reintegration.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Doctoral degree in psychology or related discipline.
- Licensed mental health professional preferred.
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices.
- Certification in select evidence-based practice is preferred.
- Extensive experience administering and interpreting the ADOS-2.
- Strong background in autism spectrum disorders, behavioral psychology, and developmental disabilities.
- Experience with Functional Behavior Assessments and developing Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in the field of social services.
- Must be able to lift minimum of 50 pounds.
