About Job

ReDiscover is seeking a Mental Health Therapist to add to our Adult & Family Services Program!

Who We Are

ReDiscover has been known for over 50 years as a non-profit community mental health center in southeastern Jackson County, Missouri with a mission of delivering efficient and cost-effective treatment for the people we serve. Our diverse team of over 700 employees is “Passionate About People” as we support our community, specifically those whose lives have been affected by a mental illness or substance use.

What We Do

The Adult and Family Services (AFS) Therapy Program is the outpatient therapy department of ReDiscover. This program provides support to clients from all backgrounds, ages, needs, and often to those who have difficulties seeking treatment elsewhere. The AFS Therapy Program provides both telehealth and in-person sessions which gives clinical staff flexibility to work from home a few days each week.

At ReDiscover, while every day is different, a typical day may include the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Maintain and interact with a caseload of clients with diverse characteristics either in-person or over the phone.
  • Conduct high quality clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in a timely manner.
  • Identify and provide clinical interventions and referrals for clients based on their needs.
  • Empower clients to develop and nurture the knowledge, skills, and support systems crucial to promoting optimal functioning in the community.
  • Continually assess clients for lack of progress, progress, or emergent needs and address those needs clinically.
  • Engage difficult-to-serve clients by investigating all potential resources in order to gain access and make connections.
  • Collect and maintain information about clients and document interactions within ReDiscover’s designated electronic medical record.
  • Communicate and collaborate with an internal multi-disciplinary team to address various aspects of wellness and ensure positive communication regarding the coordination of client care.

We are focused on your development and will spend time helping you continue to grow as a Mental Health Therapist. However, here are some things that you will need prior to starting with ReDiscover:
