The preferred candidate will:
have a Master's degree OR license in a behavioral health-related field, or State of Tennessee LADAC license or eligibility (in process), with a minimum of two years' experience working with clients who have a substance use disorder diagnosis; familiarity with community resources and the ability to make appropriate referrals; good chart documentation, written, and oral communication skills; training and experience with co-occurring disorders preferred.
Job Summary: Provide individual, group and family counseling and related casework duties to adults with addiction or co-occurring disorders as supervised by a Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor or professional otherwise qualified to provide clinical supervision; provide other treatment and recovery support services; participate as member of clinical staff in developing, implementing, and evaluating program services; perform other related duties as required.
Duties: Provide group and individual counseling to caseload of chemically dependent and/or adults with co-occurring disorders.
Provide related program components including focused educational group sessions, and other treatment/recovery support services as scheduled.
Ensure that all attendant paperwork and/or electronic record entries associated with treatment activities (Treatment Plans, Progress Notes, ASAM reviews, discharge summaries, ASI’s, etc., and other documentation) are completed within established time frames and in accordance with agency standards.
Maintain progress notes and all chart documentation in a manner that is behavioral and concise, and relates to individual client needs and treatment plans.
Report all caseload admissions, transfers, and discharges to Client Records Clerk in a timely manner.
Participate in weekly clinical supervision; submit all casework materials for general and selected review and discussion with clinical supervisor. Seek consultation from clinical supervisor or in his/her absence, other treatment staff, whenever clinical crises or issues arise that require immediate intervention or resolution.
Provide verbal feedback and appropriate chart documentation regarding any significant observations, interactions or interventions with clients having other primary counselors.
Participate in clinical and administrative staff meetings.
Participate in quality assurance and utilization review committees and studies.
Initiate referral for further professional evaluation or testing via clinical supervisor as indicated by individual client needs.
Participate in case conferences, provide feedback and/or reports to referring agencies or other professionals in accord with referral protocol and confidentiality standards.
Provide client referrals for vocational, employment, and other support/resource services as needed to achieve individual treatment plan goals.
Participate in training, professional development and affiliations in accord with agency goals and mission.
Perform Other Related Duties As Required.
