  Position: Lead Chef  Job Type: Full Time   Location:  Castle Rock, CO Schedule:  Full Time | Variable Schedule Compensation:  $20-24 Per Hour (Dependent on Experience)     About The Role   The Lead Chef is responsible for overseeing food service operations in a treatment center setting, ensuring compliance with health standards, and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to client needs. This role requires strong leadership in kitchen management, menu development, and food safety, while also contributing to an environment that supports clients’ well-being.     Key Responsibilities:  Culinary Leadership & Food Service Operations  Plan and prepare meals that meet nutritional requirements, dietary restrictions, and budgetary constraints.  Develop menus and recipes in accordance with health and safety regulations.  Maintain inventory, order supplies, and ensure food quality standards are met.  Oversee food preparation, portion control, and presentation to maintain high service standards.  Compliance & Safety  Ensure adherence to health codes, food safety regulations, and sanitation guidelines.  Conduct inspections of food deliveries to verify quality and compliance with orders.  Maintain cleanliness of food preparation areas and equipment.  Train staff in proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety protocols.  Team Supervision & Development  Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure efficiency and quality in food service.  Schedule work assignments and ensure adequate staffing coverage.  Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve culinary operations.  Client & Facility Support  Assist clients in food preparation when needed.  Support transportation and catering for meals delivered across Sandstone Care sites.  Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to align food service with client care needs.     Education & Certifications Requirements:   High school diploma or GED required; culinary degree or related certification preferred.  ServSafe certification required.  Experience Requirements:   Minimum of 1-2 years of food preparation experience, preferably in a healthcare or treatment facility.  Experience developing menus and managing kitchen operations.  Previous experience working in substance abuse or mental health treatment settings is a plus.  Key Competencies & Skill Sets:   Culinary Expertise: Strong knowledge of food preparation, meal planning, and nutrition.  Food Safety & Compliance: Understanding of health regulations, sanitation procedures, and food handling guidelines.  Leadership & Supervision: Ability to train, mentor, and oversee kitchen staff.  Organization & Inventory Management: Efficiently manage kitchen operations, supplies, and meal delivery schedules.  Communication & Collaboration: Work effectively with team members, clients, and leadership.  Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Ability to adjust meal plans and operations as needed while maintaining high standards.    Other Requirements:  Candidates applying for this position should be aware that an offer for employment in this position is contingent upon passing a comprehensive background check, encompassing criminal records and motor vehicle reports.  A valid driver's License and clean driving history are required – The Lead Chef may be expected to drive a company 15 passenger van to transport food or pick up supplies as needed     The Perks  At Sandstone Care, we believe that great care starts with our employees.
