DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Our dedicated and enthusiastic nursing team provides round-the-clock care, seven days a week. Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care, focusing on age-specific and patient-centered approaches during interactions. Your duties will include participating in hospital and department orientations, completing required classes and exams, and engaging in staff development programs. You will assist patients with daily living activities, including hygiene, dressing, and recreational pursuits, all while adhering to hospital policies and procedures. Key responsibilities also involve maintaining accurate patient records, applying therapeutic communication and crisis management techniques, and ensuring strict infection control standards. You will cultivate positive relationships with both patients and team members, always advocating for and safeguarding patients' rights. Additionally, you will prioritize patient safety, follow time and attendance protocols, and identify areas for personal growth and training.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment, 40 hours per week
Work hours are 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM), with a 30-minute lunch.
- You will follow a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays as assigned.
Work hours during training are 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM)
May change based on operational needs.
Overtime and travel may be required as needed.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Six months of experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with mental health or physical illness or disabilities; or
Certification as a Nurse Aide or Nursing Assistant through the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
