Job Description Summary
The Office of Admissions seeks a dynamic and energetic professional to join our team as an Admissions Counselor. Reporting to the Director of First-Year Admissions, the individual in this role will manage a designated geographic territory, support on-campus recruitment and admissions events, evaluate applications, and contribute to the University’s undergraduate enrollment goals.

The Admissions Counselor will play a key role in student recruitment by counseling prospective students, reviewing application materials, representing the University at regional and local events, and coordinating both on- and off-campus recruitment initiatives. This position requires up to eight weeks of travel during peak recruitment season and participation in evening college fairs as needed, and weekly presentations on campus.

This role requires a flexible schedule, including availability for occasional evenings and weekends. A valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to travel are essential.

Essential Functions
Recruitment/Territory Management:
  • Oversee an assigned geographic territory and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract, engage, and enroll prospective students.
  • Responsibilities include representing Nazareth University at college fairs, conducting off-campus interviews and high school visits, and building meaningful connections through in-person interactions.
  • This role also includes maintaining accurate records and managing territory-specific data in Slate to support outreach and enrollment efforts.

Application Review and Processing:
  • Evaluate and manage admissions applications, providing thoughtful recommendations to the Director of First-Year Admissions.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure all application files are reviewed thoroughly and in a timely manner, supporting the office in meeting critical deadlines and enrollment objectives.

Targeted Outreach and Communication:
  • Engage with prospective students throughout all stages of the enrollment funnel, from inquiry to enrollment.
  • Build strong relationships with school counselors, independent counselors, and community partners while maintaining consistent and meaningful communication with families and parents to support the college decision-making process.
