Job Description:The Arc of Rensselaer County is a non-profit agency located in Troy, NY supporting individuals with disabilities and their families throughout Rensselaer County. We are currently looking for a Training & Development Specialist to work in our Community Inclusion Project.This position is responsible for promoting presence and participation in the community for persons with developmental disabilities. They work to develop opportunities for project participants to develop and exercise personal competence and preference in community opportunities. They assist participants in making choices pursuant to desired community experiences and daily activities as well as facilitate and foster relationships with peers and community members.Requirements:Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a human services related field from an accredited college and at least one year experience working with the individuals with disabilities or an Associate's degree plus three years of relevant experience.Candidates must have a valid New York State Drivers license, good driving record and reliable transportation.This position requires the capacity to support people's physical management needs, necessitating the ability to lift in excess of fifty pounds (50).
