Job Overview:
As a Behavior Interventionist, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide essential support in educational settings. This role will primarily be focused on working with students with significant behavior and communication challenges. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting teachers in implementing instructional activities, providing individualized attention to students, and ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment. This role is pivotal in facilitating the academic, social, and emotional development of students, particularly those with diverse learning needs. Responsibilities:
Support Classroom Instruction:
-Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and resources.
-Conduct targeted and specialized support for students who require communication assistive technology support.
-Reinforce learning concepts through guided practice and activities.
Student Assistance:
-Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs or learning difficulties.
-Offer encouragement and positive reinforcement to promote student engagement and motivation.
Behavioral Support:
-Implement behavior management strategies as directed by the teacher or BCBA.
-Help implement educational programs and IEP goals.
-Monitor student behavior and intervene as necessary to maintain a productive learning environment.
-Foster positive social interactions among students.
Collaboration:
-Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to address the diverse needs of students.
-Participate in team meetings and provide input on student progress and strategies for improvement.
Administrative Tasks:
-Prepare and maintain classroom displays and bulletin boards.
-Help with the supervision of students during transitions, lunch, and other non-instructional times.
Job Details:
- Monday- Friday
- 6-7 hour shifts
- RBT Certification Required
- Start Date: August 11, 2025
- End Date: June 5, 2026
Qualifications:
- RBT Certification
- 1 year experience with managing severe behavior in a 1:1 capacity
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
- Understanding of instructional techniques and strategies for diverse learners.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting the educational development of students.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and meet any other requirements mandated by the school or district.
