We are looking for compassionate Community Support Specialist to work in ShelterCare's Medical Recuperation Unit (SMR). What we offer:

The Community Support Specialist works directly with individuals experiencing homelessness and may be diagnosed with serious mental illness who are in a temporary shelter while they recuperate for a hospital stay. You will be a vital member of a team who will coordinate services for participants to receive ongoing care while at our ShelterCare Medical Recuperation Unit (SMR) and help transition them to housing. The starting wage for this position is $20.13 to $20.48 /per hour depending on a number of factors. This position is considered essential and will be required to work holidays as scheduled. If it's a ShelterCare paid holiday, you will receive holiday pay plus pay for your time worked. The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Saturday.

What you bring to ShelterCare:

Required

  • 3 years in healthcare or social services

- or -

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, social services or a related field

Preferred

  • Prior electronic health records experience is strongly preferred.
