Job Description

  • Through clinical interviewing and/or through the selection, administration and interpretation of standard group and individual tests of personality development and intellectual capacity, evaluates individuals' emotional and intellectual functioning.
  • Maintains suitable records and files of test performance and treatment results.
  • Prepares reports of psychological findings which may be included in clinical case histories, files, etc.
  • Consults with psychiatrists, social workers, judges and other relevant parties regarding the diagnoses, prognoses and recommendations for disposition of individual cases.
  • Attends and may participate in psychological and general staff conferences.
  • Participates in individual and group research by evaluating initial summarization and quantitative treatment of data, preparing research reports for publication.
  • May be required to provide psychological consultation services on non-clinical issues, and may offer psychological consultation services to other City agencies.
  • May participate in treatment programs administering psychotherapy.
  • May provide neuro-psychological and vocational assessments.
  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications


1. Valid license and current registration to practice as a Psychologist issued by the NYSED; and
2. Two (2) years of post-licensure experience, one (1) year of which must have been post-licensure supervisory experience; or three (3) years of post-licensure experience; and
3. Completion of the NYC Health + Hospitals Supervisory training within three (3) months of appointment.

In addition to base compensation, you will receive $4,855 annually if you are currently registered and possess a New York State license to practice as a psychologist.
