Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health counseling and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality therapeutic services. This role involves working with individuals and groups to facilitate healing and personal growth through various therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, and dance therapy. The Therapist will play a crucial role in crisis management and support clients in navigating their mental health challenges.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions to address clients' mental health needs.
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and client goals.
- Utilize various therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral therapy, and art therapy.
- Facilitate group therapy sessions that promote peer support and shared experiences.
- Engage in clinical research to stay updated on best practices and emerging therapies.
- Provide crisis management support to clients as needed, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and treatment outcomes in compliance with ICD-9 standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
- Conduct initial assessments to understand clients' mental health history and symptoms.
· Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
· Provide one-on-one therapy using evidence-based therapeutic methods such as CBT, DBT, etc.
· Lead group therapy sessions to foster peer support and coping skills.
· Respond to client crises with appropriate interventions, including emergency referrals.
· Maintain confidential, accurate, and up-to-date clinical records according to HIPAA regulations.
· Offer psychoeducation to clients and their families about mental health and coping strategies.
· Collaborate with other healthcare providers (e.g., psychiatrists, case managers) as needed.
· Participate in professional development activities and supervision for continuing education.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Valid licensure as a therapist or counselor in the state of practice.
- Experience in mental health counseling with knowledge of various therapeutic approaches.
- Proficiency in crisis management techniques and behavioral intervention strategies.
- Familiarity with clinical research methodologies is preferred.
- Skills in group therapy facilitation and the ability to engage clients effectively.
- Knowledge of dance therapy or art therapy is a plus but not required.
- Strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Experience in evidence-based therapeutic techniques (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-focused therapy).
