Are you ready to make a real difference in people's lives? Join the Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) 3. Develops treatment plans and supervises the provision of applied behavior analysis services to persons with developmental disabilities who exhibit challenging behavior including but not limited to functional behavior assessments; development, implementation and evaluation of behavior interventions; monitoring effects of assessments and behavior interventions; consultation to schools, families and programs; and staff/family training. Documents data-based progress and family contacts. Transports consumer as necessary.
Your Role in Action:
· Develop, implement, revise, approve and document skill acquisition programs and functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans.
· Conduct functional assessments (including functional analyses) of challenging behavior and select the specific assessment methods that are best suited to the behavior and the context.
· Collect data on identified target and replacement behaviors, summarizes and graphs data on a weekly basis ensuring accuracy in the data collection process. Making recommendations for program modifications and behavior intervention plans.
· Design and implement programs to reduce stereotypic, disruptive, and destructive behavior, based on systematic analysis of the variables (antecedents and consequences) that occasion and maintain the behavior and matching treatment to the determined function(s) of the behavior.
· Consistently builds rapport with clients and families through the ability to demonstrate creativity and a "think outside the box" attitude to provide support and achieve positive outcomes. Develops and conducts individual and group training with consumer families and other caregivers or staff.
· Responds to crisis situation(s).
· Supervises program staff, interns and practicum students to assure quality service delivery. Provides ABA training to staff to assure ongoing skill development and maintenance.
· Collaborates in program evaluation and environmental modifications to improve the program.
· Attends and participates in departmental meetings, prepares data for presentation, and presents consumers' progress toward habilitation goals. 10. Employ an array of scientifically validated behavior analytic teaching procedures incorporating a variety of teaching techniques into skill-building programs.
· Assist in development of transition plans for children as they exit the program.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
What qualifications will you need:
Education:
- · MA/MS degree in Behavior Analysis from an accredited university, or MA/MS in psychology with coursework as required by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
Experience:
- · Five (5) years demonstrated experience in:
o (1) conducting functional analyses,
o (2) developing behavior intervention plans based on the functional analysis and environmental assessment, and
o (3) basic ABA techniques to include but not limited to differential reinforcement, shaping, prompting, prompt fading, reinforcer preference assessment, discrete trial training and natural environment training,
o (4) conducting or participating research in behavior analysis, and
o (5) developing individual parent training program(s)
Other Key Qualifications:
- · Must maintain a valid Texas Driver’s license and safe driving record with proof of insurance.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- · Must have well-developed interpersonal and professional problem-solving skills, a working knowledge of intellectual disabilities, and advanced knowledge of applied behavior analysis.
- · Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of all work-related matters and ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of the agency.
- · Skill in basic mathematical functions and use of the internet for research purposes· Demonstrates high level of proficiency in utilizing and teaching others to use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) skills.
