Job Description
Colonial Behavioral Health provides opportunities for recovery to individuals and their family members in the areas of mental illness, substance use disorder, and developmental disabilities. Colonial Behavioral Health serves the citizens of James City County, City of Poquoson, City of Williamsburg, and York County.
We are currently recruiting for multiple Clinician IV positions within our Outpatient department. This position will provide direct therapeutic interventions to individuals, families and groups with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health or developmental disability issues.

Job Duties
Job Responsibilities
- Complete assessments, evaluations, diagnosis, and service planning of the population served
- Provide individual, family, couples and group counseling and psychotherapy with adults and the elderly either face to face or through telehealth
- Submit documentation to include report writing and timely, procedurally correct recording in health information records - in both electronic and manual formats.
- Serves as a consultant to other staff and community agencies regarding assessment and diagnosis, coordination of services, and referrals
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (EEO)
Skills and Qualifications
- Must have the ability to treat co-occurring disorders including knowledge of group counseling techniques, family systems, and motivational interviewing
- Must be able to prepare a comprehensive recovery-oriented treatment plan according to agency guidelines.
- Ability to maintain an objective, professional and calm relationship with individuals and groups in a stressful situation
- One year of work experience with individuals with serious mental health and/or developmental disabilities preferred
- Valid driver's license is required.
- Master's Degree in a human services field required.
- Must hold a valid license from the Board of Counseling or Social Work ( LPC, LCSW, LCP,) required
