While some jurisdictions, including Maryland, permit the use of marijuana for medical purposes, marijuana continues to be classified as an illegal drug under the federal Controlled Substances Act. As a result, medical marijuana use will not be accepted as a valid explanation for a positive drug test result.

As a Social Worker, you will:
- Complete initial intake assessments, which include evaluating the emergent nature of a referral, explaining the nature of services to referral sources, and identify what types of services are needed
- Provide diagnostic evaluations of children with suspected psychological problems or developmental delays.
- Assess family functioning, identifying the quality of parent-child relationships and the family's dynamics.
- Related duties include preparing written evaluations, obtaining relevant information from school settings, making home and school visits as appropriate, interpreting the results for parents and other professionals working with a client, developing home programs, treatment plans, and educational plans
- Provide psychotherapeutic treatment to children and their families including individual play therapy, parent collateral work, family therapy, couples therapy and group therapy.
- Monitor progress of children/families in treatment and formally reviews treatment plan and goals every three months.
- Consult with other professionals working with the client to assure coordinated and comprehensive service delivery
- Consult to professionals in the community including pediatricians, child welfare/DHHS case workers regarding the appropriateness of referrals and the progress in therapy and ongoing therapeutic needs of individual clients
- Participate in scheduled interdisciplinary meetings to formulate a comprehensive diagnosis and implement coordinated treatment planning, as well as to review the progress made in treatment and to develop new treatment strategies
- Participate in case conferences, disposition meetings and staff meetings, as needed
- Provide case management services for children manifesting a psychological disorder as the primary diagnosis.
- Screen for other disorders or delays in development and makes appropriate referrals for services
- Perform basic administrative tasks related to work assignments that meet COMAR requirements for OMHC including the timely preparation of written reports, billing forms, work schedules, and progress notes to document treatment sessions
- Maintain medical records in a complete, timely and legible form, including parent information forms, consent forms, data collection forms, progress notes, and treatment plans and goals
- Continue professional education in Social Work by attending formal continuing education programs, conferences, advanced training, and by regular consultation with health care providers.
- Receive weekly clinical supervision
- Access Protected Health Information on a routine basis. Employee must comply with all privacy standards including HIPAA, COMAR and others – state and federal regulations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Include:
- Completed graduate level education, training and supervision
- Experience with a wide variety of clinical treatment modalities is required in addition to supervised experience providing psychotherapeutic services to children under 12 years of age and their families. It is understood that the clinician has had progressively responsible clinical experiences. Demonstrated expertise in the use of psycho-social assessment and treatment for children under 12 years of age is required.
- Knowledge of psychological disorders from infancy through adulthood is essential.
- Requires a LCSW-C or LCPC Clinical License or equivalent.
Work Schedule:
3 8 hour days, 0645-1515, Every other weekend
Pay Range:
$63,510.88 - $92,090.78 If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
