Job Description: Under general supervision, employee performs a variety of production assembly operations on electronic components and final assemblies. Employee will also support activities of final assembly employees who perform final assembly operations. Employee should have familiarity with all lines in final assembly and be knowledgeable on all related processes. Employee should possess ability to clearly articulate direction to line employees and clearly express what expectations are. Employee should have 3 years or more of direct experience in a leadership role to develop into a lead role; fully trained in all aspects of teamwork and capable of training others. Employee will provide support with day to day line operations (release of jobs, meeting deadlines, maintain quality etc.) and assist in cross training for all final assembly lines. Coordinates and supports Final and Sub-Assembly departments with troubleshooting issues in addition to assisting Engineering with prototyping/development of new models. Individual will also be responsible for generating ECR’s, creating and revising work instructions, writing travelers and other technical support related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs bench production assembly of products or parts, and the setting and synching of assembled parts;
  • Keeps quality up to acceptable standards with little discrepant work;
  • Performs tasks equal to or exceeding established standards;
  • Accomplishes production quotas;
  • Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions in English;
  • Ability to work well with only a modest amount of repeated instructions;
  • Keeps work areas clean and orderly;
  • Ability to work with high and low pressure systems and using different type of media (air, hydraulic, skydrol, and water) to perform the job in a safely manner
  • Spoken communication clearly, listen carefully and seek clarification;
  • Written communication clearly and concisely;
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft word, excel, and outlook
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rule, operation instructions, ability to work from specifications, travelers and blueprints;
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form;
  • Working consistently, working overtime and traveling, if required;
  • Troubleshooting in Final and Sub Assembly areas
  • Assisting Engineering with prototypes and developments of new models

Skills and Requirements:

  • Applicant must be ITAR compliant;
  • Performs visual inspection of all parts and components just prior to assembly;
  • Ability to acquire proficient knowledge of all Line operations;
  • Typically supports a team of more than 8 people, may lead multiple lines/work cells
  • Good understanding of electronics in general
  • Ability to work with Electronic devices such as multi-meters, dielectric, insulation resistance, and output check equipment.
  • Aware of Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) requirements.
  • Adequate manual dexterity to safely and proficiently utilize standard production small hand tooling and fixtures;
  • Ability to react to changes productively and perform other essential tasks as assigned
  • Conducts himself/herself in a business-like and civil manner;
  • Ability to handle day-to-day work challenges, adapt to changes in the work environment, manages multiple tasks and competing demands, change method to best fit the work situation;

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus. An annual eye exam may be required.
