Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Counseling Center Coordinator manages the business transactions, scheduling, building maintenance and coordination of communication with therapists, practicum students, clients, and clinical supervision. Effective written and oral communication skills are essential. Th individual needs a basic understanding of confidentially to ensure that all transactions are maintained in a confidential manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Assist in organizing volunteers including work study or peer counselors to work in the Counseling Center.
  • Develop written and electronic communication for all staff.
  • Execute the scheduling of clients, maintenance of therapists and practicum students' schedules and organizing the space allocation during office hours particularly during high peek times.
  • Maintain statistics on usage service.
  • Provide a welcoming environment for clients in the waiting areas and potential clients who come during walk-in-period.
  • Implement purchasing requests and associated paperwork.
  • Assists the Counseling Center Director with any special projects or assignments deemed necessary.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

Perform other duties as assigned by the leadership of the Counseling Center Director.

Qualifications

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE:
  • The candidate must be proficient in word processing programs including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with good customer service models
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion regarding center matters and visits
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once is key to this positions success
ORGANIZATIONAL REPONSIBILITY:

No Direct Reports

Education: A Bachelor's Degree and applicable work experience in the health care field is required

Experience: 2+ years (or relevant level of years) related experience or equivalent role
