Insurance Recovery & Counseling Associate

A leading global law firm is seeking a 3rd–6th year Associate to join its Insurance Recovery & Counseling practice in Washington, DC. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly specialised policyholder-side insurance coverage practice handling sophisticated coverage disputes and complex recovery matters.

The role offers significant responsibility, direct client exposure and the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners within a collaborative and growing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent policyholders in complex insurance coverage litigation and arbitrations
• Analyse and interpret sophisticated insurance policies, endorsements and exclusions
• Advise clients on insurance recovery strategy and coverage issues
• Draft coverage analyses, pleadings and substantive legal memoranda
• Support litigation and arbitration matters across a range of industries
• Work directly with clients on high-stakes insurance disputes
  
  

• 3rd–6th year associate
• Experience representing policyholders in insurance coverage matters
• Background in complex insurance recovery litigation and/or arbitrations
• Strong analytical, drafting and communication skills
• Strong academic credentials
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Collaborative, professional and proactive
• Admitted to the relevant State Bar or eligible for prompt admission
