Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (Psychiatry) to join our dedicated mental health team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments for patients across age groups, including children and geriatrics.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate medication management, psychotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions.
- Administer medications, including psychopharmacology treatments such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, and mood stabilizers, following best practices and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, discharge planning, and case management efforts.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks to document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and medication records accurately.
- Provide crisis intervention and acute care management in emergency or inpatient settings, including level I trauma centers or psychiatric units.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and wellness strategies to promote recovery and resilience.
Requirements
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with specialization in Psychiatry or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification.
- Proven experience in behavioral health or psychiatric settings; experience with telehealth platforms is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology principles and medication administration protocols.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for seamless documentation.
- Experience working with diverse populations including children, seniors in memory care or assisted living facilities, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to perform comprehensive physical examinations when necessary and manage acute psychiatric crises effectively.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times. Pay: $80.00 - $110.00 per hour
