Job Summary:
Under the direction of DeltaHawk’s Director of Quality, the Senior Quality Technician is responsible for accurate and efficient dimensional inspection, testing and documentation of aircraft engine close tolerance machined components and assemblies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Write CMM programs and provide operational support for engine R&D, FAA certification, and production receiving inspection using quality standard procedures and best practices to document repeatable and accurate inspection results
- Support and develop efficient/optimized CMM utilization through fixturing, nesting and other techniques
- Demonstrate proficiency and best practices for programming/setup and operation of common inspection equipment such as: comparators, vision systems, micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, pins, thread gauges, ring gauges, and other common inspection tools
- Perform final dimensional or mechanical inspection of parts, components, sub- assemblies, and assemblies for conformance to drawings and engineering specifications
- Analyze and interpret blueprints, routings, evaluation sheets, manuals and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required
- Work closely with engineers to define and implement inspection methods on new products during development
- Clean, maintain, repair and ensure calibration of measuring instruments and test equipment.
- Document and report non-conforming materials
- Perform complete first article inspection on components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies to FAA requirements
- Train and mentor others on inspection procedures, techniques and tool usage
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
- Demonstrated advanced operation and programming proficiency of a CMM with PC- DMIS software (10+ Years experience preferred)
- Demonstrated expert experience in inspection practices and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), certifications of conformance, chemical and physical analysis reports, and test reports (10+ Years experience preferred)
- Solid verbal and written communications skills
- MS Office Excel skills and computer file management
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs to work bench height
Preferred:
- Possess advanced knowledge of programming/setup and operation for the following gages: optical comparator, air gages, and a vari-roll gear tester
- Demonstrated proficiency using Solidworks Inspection software to create balloon prints and FAIRs
- Experience using Infor Syteline ERP
- Able to program a measuring arm such as a Hexagon Absolute Arm
- Experience in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 system
- Experience in an Aerospace or close tolerance inspection environment
Working Conditions
Work will primarily be performed in a metrology lab maintained to environmental conditions for temperature and humidity consistent with industry standards for measurement accuracy. Periodically assignments may require work be performed in a production area or at a supplier, requiring the use of PPEs determined appropriate for the environment by the resident authority.
