School counselors implement a comprehensive program supporting academic, social-emotional, and college/career readiness within the Four Components: Guidance Curriculum, Individual Planning, Responsive Services, and Support.Provide Tier 1 instruction through guidance lessons focused on career exploration and social-emotional learning, conducting two lessons each nine weeks.Guide students in academic, career, and personal planning via individual and group meetings, assisting with course selection, transitions, and goal setting.Offer individual and small group counseling for social, emotional, behavioral, and academic concerns, including crisis intervention and referrals.Stay current professionally, orient staff and community, and collaborate with stakeholders to support student success.Perform additional duties as assigned.Minimum requirements include a valid Mississippi School Counselor License, a Master’s degree, and background checks. Preferred skills involve experience with MTSS, collaboration, crisis intervention, data analysis, and a commitment to equity and culturally responsive practices.
