Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to join our educational team for the 2026-27 school year, offering a $1500 joining bonus to qualified candidates. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to students, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development. Your expertise will help create a safe and inclusive learning environment by assessing student needs, developing intervention strategies, and collaborating with educators and families. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in school psychology, child and family counseling, and behavioral health to foster positive outcomes for diverse student populations.
Duties
- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify student needs related to learning, behavior, and emotional well-being.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators, parents, and support staff.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on social skills, emotional regulation, and behavioral management.
- Design and oversee safety plans and crisis intervention strategies to support students experiencing mental health challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop behavior management plans and implement evidence-based interventions such as applied behavior analysis.
- Facilitate early intervention programs and conduct intake assessments for students requiring additional support.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, medical records, and progress notes in compliance with school policies and confidentiality standards.
- Manage conflict resolution efforts among students or staff as needed to promote a positive school climate.
- Provide training on behavioral health topics, social work strategies, and crisis management for educators and families.
- Support students with disabilities by conducting psychological testing, evaluating progress, and ensuring compliance with special education regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in educational or clinical settings, including school experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child & family counseling techniques, crisis intervention methods, and behavioral health practices.
- Expertise in psychological testing, diagnostic evaluation, IEP development, and special education procedures.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Excellent case management skills combined with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary services effectively.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and maintaining confidential medical records.
- Ability to manage crisis situations efficiently while maintaining a calm demeanor; skilled in conflict management.
- Competence in applied behavior analysis (ABA), social work principles, and psychotherapy techniques tailored for children.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with educators, families, healthcare providers, and community resources.
- Knowledge of safety planning procedures and crisis management protocols within school environments.
