Associate Marriage and Family Therapist

Mallon Advisory & Counseling Services (MACS) is a boutique private practice based in W. San Jose. The owner specializes in relational psychotherapy with complex couples and high-conflict divorce cases.

The ideal candidate is an AMFT (or APCC) with <2000 hours of experience and wants to build their own private practice.

In this role, you will have a great deal of autonomy and have the opportunity to build a private practice that you can launch once licensed.

MACS has primarily focused on family, couples, and young adult therapy. In addition, the practice is LGBTQ+ friendly and trans-affirming.

We are seeking to add a strong candidate with practicum experience and interest in working with one of more of the following:

• Adolescent and young men
• Couples

Your supervisor will work with you to build your caseload with an eye toward a) having enough breadth for sufficient learning, b) focusing on your preferred client type, and c) enabling opportunities to practice different modalities.

The ideal candidate:

• Has had strong academic performance and has excellent references
• Has work experience from another industry
• Has experience with and interest in psychodynamic psychotherapy and wishes to develop a diverse intervention skillset
• Has experience and desire to work with young men
• Is comfortable working remotely and in W. San Jose

Compensation

• $60-65/hour to start
• W-2, paid hourly
• Compensation reviewed after therapist can demonstrate sustained 10+ client caseload
• Paid every other Friday
