Position Overview:

The Director of Psychology is responsible for overseeing clinical psychological/psychosexual assessments for the residential campus.The Director of Psychology is also responsible for providing adjunct clinical services to residents and their families. The Director is actively involved in treatment, assessment, and consultation for youth residing in the Residential Treatment Center (RTC) and their families. The Director under the supervision of the Chief Psychiatrist will work together to ensure that the psychology and psychiatry teams work collaboratively to provide comprehensive care for patients, especially for complex mental health needs. They will adopt a team-based approach where they both collectively work on biological and behavioral aspects of care. This individual also directly supervises the Senior Psychologist(s) and oversees the Pre-Doctoral Psychology Internship Program. The Director of Psychology shows dedication and willingness to work alongside the Integrated Treatment Model (ITM), supporting and carrying out the functions of the model to best serve the population. The Director of Psychology is expected to have a nonjudgmental approach that focuses on skill building and basic principles of behavior modification (reinforcement, extinction, blocking and shaping). The Director of Psychology is required to function as part of a team, committing to modeling pro social behavior and building positive relationships with all residents. 

Position Qualifications:

A minimum of five years’ experience as a licensed psychologist. Experience can be outside of NY State, but a current NY State Psychology License required.
