Job Descriptions
· Provide one-on-one peer support to individuals in recovery, sharing personal experiences, insights, and strategies for wellness.
· Performs a wide range of tasks to assist peers of all ages, from young adults to old age, in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process.
· Utilize recovery resources such as booklets, tapes, pamphlets, and other written materials in the provision of services.
· Developing recovery plans, coping methods, and rehabilitation strategies with the client.
· Monitoring the client's behavior, schedule, medication, and activities.
· Conduct assessments and providing feedback to the client, medical professionals, and the family.
· Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Qualifications
- Certified as a Peer Support Specialist
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least 1-2 years’ work experience in a recovery-oriented setting is preferred.
- Ability to sensitively work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures is preferred.
- Must have strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
