Job Description


Job Summary:

Supports Director of Resident Services (DRS) to manage the day-to-day healthcare operations of the

community to ensure resident’s healthcare needs are met. Ensures residents and families are treated

with respect and dignity and ensures quality care as resident’s healthcare needs change. Assists

management with resident retention. The RCC participates in the orientation and training of new

care staff as assigned by community leadership and serving as a mentor and resource to other team

members.


Essential Functions:

1. Assists in the achievement of occupancy goals by monitoring the health, safety and well-being

of residents, and proactively identifying those at risk for move out. Implements timely problem

solving.

2. As allowed by the Nurse Practice Act, assists in assessing the health, functional, and psycho

social status of residents. Initiates individualized Care Plans and proactively manages care and

services for each resident.

3. Makes and keeps care staff schedule updated as well as finds coverage to fill vacation / sick

time / holiday requests. Reviews assignments with DRS.

4. Acts as on-call staff and fills in shifts when requested by the DRS.

5. Reads staff communication records and maintains familiarity with resident records as required.

6. Records resident information as required.

7. Conducts Care Plan reviews and updates, according to FSL and state requirements, to ensure

residents’ service needs are met.

8. Communicates information in a timely manner to the appropriate person or agency regarding

changes in residents’ health/well-being, personal needs, risk management issues, customer service

issues, family, or outside health care provider concerns.

9. Facilitates continuity of care for those residents receiving home health care, hospice

services, and other third party healthcare- related services.

10. Assists management with resident retention through new resident welcome events, resident

referral programs, and outside community visits to current hospitalized residents.

11. Assists in the supervision of community-based licensed nursing staff, medication technicians,

and Resident Care staff.

12. Assists with the orientation of new staff members to job responsibilities. Acts as a

lead/trainer for carestaff / med techs.

13. Completes documentation as required by FSL or state regulatory agencies.

14. Checks daily for physician orders and follows up if order is not returned.

15. Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security

work, safety, and other emergency procedures.

16. Assists in keeping the environment safe for associates to reduce the occurrence of Worker’s

Compensation claims.

Education and Experience:

  • Med Tech license with a minimum of 5 years related experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

Has a working knowledge of a skill or discipline that requires basic analytic ability. Has an

overall understanding of the work environment and process. Has working knowledge of the

organization. Basic typing skills along with a working knowledge of personal computing and word processing

software are required, preferably in a Microsoft Windows environment.

to 40 pounds constantly. The employee must reach below shoulder height frequently and kneel, stoop and squat

occasionally. Stand 6 out of 8 hours.
