Job Description
A school district in Los Angeles, California is seeking a qualified School Counselor for a full‑time, school‑based contract. This position serves K–12 students and focuses on academic, social‑emotional, and college/career development. The ideal candidate is student‑centered, collaborative, and experienced in delivering comprehensive counseling services in a school setting.

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
Implement comprehensive school counseling programs aligned with district and state standards
Support students with academic planning, attendance, behavior, and postsecondary readiness
Participate in IEP, 504, and SST meetings as part of multidisciplinary teams
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community resources
Assist with crisis intervention and student support planning
Maintain accurate documentation and student records in compliance with state and federal guidelines

Qualifications

Active California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential – School Counseling
Ability to pass background checks, fingerprinting, and district clearances
Licensing and credentialing support may be available for eligible candidates

Education

Master’s degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field

Experience

Previous school‑based counseling experience preferred
New graduates with appropriate credentials are encouraged to apply

Skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams
Excellent organizational and documentation abilities
Commitment to supporting diverse student populations

Work Hours

Monday–Friday
8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Approximately 37–40 hours per week
