Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team. This position is designed to fill available room space on weekends and includes flexible, part-time virtual hours during the week. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with mental health challenges, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting their recovery and growth. It can be for part time (at least 20 clients a week) or full time (30+ clients a week).

You will work as part of a collaborative team of mental health professionals and will have the opportunity to provide clinical supervision and contribute to holistic, therapeutic care. A background in diverse modalities such as play therapy , art therapy, psycho-education, individual and group counseling is highly valued. Also work with a wide range of age groups is highly valued as well.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and therapeutic support to individuals with mental health needs.
• Conduct assessments to determine client needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Facilitate group therapy and individual counseling sessions to promote emotional well-being.
• Implement and support therapeutic activities, including dance and art therapy.
• Collaborate with clinical staff in case management, supervision, and treatment planning.
• Monitor client progress, behaviors, and safety, and report concerns to the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in team meetings.
• Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive therapeutic environment.

Requirements

• Must be a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC)
• Experience working with individuals with mental health challenges or developmental disabilities is preferred.
• Familiarity with behavioral health principles and therapeutic approaches, including group therapy, individual counseling, and creative therapies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including in bilingual settings.
• Ability to manage crisis situations with calm and compassion.
• Committed to providing culturally competent, high-quality mental health care.
• Availability to work weekends in-office and virtually during the week on a flexible part-time schedule. Some weekday in person availability can be made available as well.
• Bilingual is a big plus!
