Seeking Licensed LMFT Clinical Supervisor (1099 Contractor) – California
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit mental health organization in Los Angeles County is seeking a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to provide clinical supervision for prelicensed associates.
This is a small, flexible 1099 contractor role averaging approximately 2 hours per week fully remote. The role may also include occasional temporary coverage for another supervisor during planned absences or time off.
As our nonprofit organization continues to grow, additional supervision hours may become available for those interested, though expanded availability is not required.

We work with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, with a strong emphasis on supporting BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and other underserved populations throughout Los Angeles County.
This role is ideal for someone seeking a flexible supplemental position within a mission-driven nonprofit outpatient mental health organization serving underserved and historically marginalized communities.
The position is also well suited for a clinician who enjoys mentoring newer associates and supporting their clinical growth in outpatient practice settings.
Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Provide BBS-compliant clinical supervision to associates
- Review and sign clinical documentation/progress notes as required
- Support associates with clinical decision-making, ethics, risk assessment, and treatment planning
- Be reasonably available for urgent clinical consultation in accordance with BBS supervision guidelines
- Provide occasional coverage supervision when another supervisor is unavailable
- Maintain appropriate supervision documentation and compliance standards
Requirements:
- Active and unrestricted California LMFT license
- Meets all California BBS supervisor qualifications and supervision requirements
- Completion of required BBS supervision training/continuing education
- Familiarity with California documentation, ethical, and legal standards
- Professional liability insurance
- Comfortable supervising associates in outpatient/private practice settings
