Job Summary
GreatLight Homecare is seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Licensed School Psychologist to join our educational team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive psychological services to students, supporting their academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development within the school environment. Your expertise will facilitate early identification of learning and behavioral challenges, contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs), and promote a positive, inclusive school climate. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in psychological assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, and working with diverse student populations, including those with developmental disabilities and autism. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Develop and implement individualized intervention strategies aligned with student IEPs
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions focusing on social skills, emotional regulation, and behavioral management
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to develop effective support plans
- Manage crisis situations by implementing safety plans and providing immediate crisis intervention when necessary
- Facilitate early intervention programs for students displaying developmental or behavioral concerns
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, psychological testing records, and progress notes in compliance with legal and ethical standards
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress and adjust interventions accordingly
- Support teachers in behavior management strategies and classroom accommodations
- Engage in case management activities to ensure comprehensive support for students with disabilities or special needs
Experience:
- Valid state licensure as a School Psychologist or equivalent credential
- Proven experience working within educational settings, preferably with diverse student populations
- Strong background in child & family counseling, crisis management, and behavioral health interventions
- Demonstrated proficiency in psychological testing, diagnostic evaluation, and social work principles
- Familiarity with special education processes including IEP development and implementation
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is highly desirable
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), early intervention strategies, and conflict management techniques
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism while maintaining confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, educators, and healthcare providers
Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
