Description

The Summer Camp Middle School Counselor is responsible for leading and supervising the Middle School group. The counselor will be responsible for assisting the planning and implementing of activities that are both fun and educational, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead activities that are age-appropriate and align with the camp's curriculum and theme
  • Supervise and assist children during activities and field trips
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, including carrying medication while on the trip
  • Encourage creativity, self-expression, and teamwork in the children
  • Collaborate with other counselors and staff to ensure a fun and safe camp experience for the children
  • Participate in at least one community service project per week with the campers
  • Help prepare and go on field trips every day, including the Thursday field trip with the rest of the camp
  • Must be able to drive a 14-passenger minibus (training is provided).
  • Training will be provided after a driving record background check has been passed.

Qualifications

  • At least 25 years old
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Must be able to work at least until early August 2025
  • Good organizational skills
  • Passion for working with children and encouraging creativity
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be willing to go on field trips every day

Education

Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
